In a recent interview with Jameela Jamil (the chick from “The Good Place” that isn’t Kristen Bell), Sam Smith gave insight to his struggles with body image.
Sam described his issue with body image as harder than coming out as a gay. He’s dealt with these struggles since he was a child. Sam revealed that at the young age of 12 he had liposuction in his chest as he held a lot of estrogen there and essentially had breasts.
He mentioned that he “thinks like a woman” and for reasons like that he was considering a sex change. However, with some time he realized he identifies instead as somewhere in between being a man and a woman — it’s called non-binary/genderqueer.
In the interview, Jameela and Sam come to the conclusions that “you’re a mixture of all different things” and “my mind does whatever it wants to do and my sexuality does whatever it wants to do, my body is doing whatever it wants to do; and so therefore I should love me in my entirety”.
