Delta Took A Girls Trip To Inspire Young Women

Earlier this month, Delta took 120 girls aged 13 to 18 from Salt Lake to NASA in Houston — but it wasn’t just passengers that were female. The pilots, the flight attendants, the gate agents, the air traffic controllers…. were all women. The airline took this no-boys-allowed trip as part of an ongoing initiative to inspire young girls to go for careers that are currently male-dominant (such as aviation).

Right now, the pilot profession is saturated with men. This approach is one that Delta hopes will increase the number of female pilots in the years to come. According to WTHR, many of the girls on the trip had never flown on a plane before, so just imagine doing it for the first time with amped up women for a cause. I can only imagine the excitement in the air.
