U2 is Giving Away Their New Album for Free on iTunes Right Now
U2 pulled a BEYONCÉ yesterday, and released a surprise album on iTunes. But they did Beyoncé one better . . . because it's FREE.
Seriously. Pull up iTunes right now. It's waiting for you. At no charge. And it'll be exclusive to iTunes' 500 MILLION users until its official release on October 14th.
It's called "Sounds of Innocence", and the lead single is "The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone)" . . . which the guys performed at an Apple event yesterday.
According to Bono, quote, "Today is kind of mind-blowing to us. The most personal album we've written could be shared with half a billion people . . . by hitting send. If only songwriting was that easy.
"It's exciting and humbling to think that people who don't know U2 or listen to rock music for that matter might check us out. Working with Apple is always a blast. They only want to do things that haven't been done before."
And the press release says, quote, "'Songs of Innocence' has its roots in the band's early and lifelong influences, including theRamones, Bob Dylan, and The Clash, as well as their formative years in Dublin and their transformative pilgrimage to California."
Did Ariana Grande Go All "Diva" During a Photo Shoot?
ARIANA GRANDE is being accused of going all DIVA during an interview & photo shoot session with Australian media.
Sources say that before the festivities even began, reporters were given the following list of topics they were NOT allowed to breach with Ariana:
Relationships, dating and ex-boyfriends . . . Mariah Carey . . . Her Nickelodeon show "Sam & Cat" and her former co-star Jennette McCurdy . . . Working with Justin Bieber . . . The passing of her grandfather.
She also demanded that she only be photographed on her left side. But it didn't matter, because most of the media outlets didn't get to shoot her.
During her first shoot with an Australian newspaper, she kept stopping to check each frame the photographer took, and making him delete any she didn't like.
Then she decided to change outfits in the middle of the shoot, which kept everyone waiting 20 minutes. One of her reps finally came out and asked the photographer to delete ALL his previous photos.
When he refused, all the rest of the day's interviews and photo shoots were CANCELED.
Well, Ariana is denying this (or at least the part about the photographer) and went into damage control IMMEDIATELY, during an appearance on an Australian radio show.
She said, quote, "It was just a photographer or something who got mad at me because I left to change my outfit mid photo shoot because I didn't like my top. I was like, 'Oh, I'll be right back!' and then I came back and he had left.
"I was like, 'Oh, [crap]!' And then he came out and said all these ridiculous untrue things about me. I was like, 'That's not real. That's nonsense!'"
Katy Perry Thinks She's the One Taylor Swift is Feuding With
Either KATY PERRY is that "enemy" TAYLOR SWIFT talked about in "Rolling Stone", or she THINKS she is.
Because yesterday she Tweeted, quote, "Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing . . ."
Regina George is the character played by RACHEL MCADAMS in "Mean Girls". She was the leader of the superficial "cool girl" clique The Plastics. It's not clear if Katy is referring to HERSELF or Taylor as Regina.
But someone uncovered an interview conducted last year with a backup dancer that seems to confirm that Katy is the one. Remember, Taylor said this "enemy" tried to sabotage her tour by hiring people away from her.
The dancer, Lockhart Brownlie, said he and a few other dancers DID make the switch . . . quote, "I was with Taylor for the first six months . . . but then Katy contacted us.
"We weren't really dancing in Taylor's tour anyway so I had got a little bored and I really wanted to do a promo tour."
Seth Rogen Wants Some Credit For NOT Looking Great in Movies
SETH ROGAN doesn't make a lot of lists of Hottest Hunks of Hollywood. He's aware of this AND he wwould like to get some recognition for it.
Yesterday he tweeted, "I've looked like [crap] in every movie I've done . . . and I've gotten zero critical acclaim for it."
