Sony Has Canceled the Release of "The Interview" . . . And North Korea Really IS to Blame
It seemed like a crazy idea that the nation of North Korea was actually behind the Sony pictures cyberattack because they wanted to stop the release of a SETH ROGEN / JAMES FRANCO movie but one U.S. official says it will be officially announced today that it's all TRUE.
U.S. officials have reportedly determined that North Korea orchestrated the massive hack and release of sensitive documents.
It'll be interesting to see how the government responds to this. PRESIDENT OBAMA'S only statement so far is that people should still go to the movies.
But we know how Sony responded. They actually pulled "The Interview" yesterday. And they said they currently have no plans to release it in ANY format, including Video on Demand.
The reaction on Twitter was immediate and most celebs were pretty upset by the decision.
ROB LOWE Tweeted, quote, "Wow. Everyone caved. The hackers won. An utter and complete victory for them. Wow. (Rob appears in the movie as himself.)
JIMMY KIMMEL called it, quote, "An un-American act of cowardice that validates terrorist actions and sets a terrifying precedent."
STEVE CARELL Tweeted, quote, "Sad day for creative expression."
(Carell is directly affected by this. He was supposed to star in a thriller he wrote about North Korea. But the project has beenscrapped.)
And BILL MAHER said, quote, "Is that all it takes, an anonymous threat and the numbers 911, to throw free expression under the bus?"
A Theater in Texas Will Fight the Hackers By Showing "Team America: World Police"
The Alamo Drafthouse theater in Dallas / Fort Worth has come up with a solution to this business of Sony pulling "The Interview". They're replacing it with one free screening of "Team America: World Police".
That's the 2004 PUPPET movie made by the creators of "South Park", which very much ridicules KIM JONG UN's father, KIM JONG IL.
Theater employees will hand out American flags and other patriotic items. The movie will air December 27th at 7:00 P.M.
The theater says, quote, "THAT is how true American heroes will be celebrating this year, but if you want to let the terrorists win . . . well, that's your prerogative."
Did Justin Bieber Get Turned Down Because He Looks Like Ellen DeGeneres in Real Life?
JUSTIN BIEBER's new, platinum hairdo isn't helping his LOVE GAME.
The "New York Post" says Justin tried to hit on a woman at the Fresh Corn Grill in West Hollywood and she turned him down, saying he looks like ELLEN DEGENERES in person.
Justin wasn't happy to hear that, obviously, but there's no word if he said anything back to her.
Elton John is Getting Married This Weekend
ELTON JOHN and his longtime partner DAVID FURNISH are finally getting married this weekend. They've had a civil partnership since 2005 . . .
but gay marriage just became legal in Britain in March . . . so now they're making it happen.
Elton and David have been together since 1993, and they have two sons: Zachary, who'll be four on Christmas Day, and Elijah, who'll be two next month.
Did LeBron James Cause an International Incident by Putting His Arm Around Kate Middleton?
PRINCE WILLIAMand his wife KATE MIDDLETON were in Brooklyn Monday night to watch the Nets take on the Cavaliers. After the game, they met LEBRON JAMES . . . who may have caused an INTERNATIONAL INCIDENT.
You see, LeBron put his arm around Kate during a photo op. And some British newspapers say that's a breach of royal protocol.
They're even comparing it to a time in 2009 when MICHELLE OBAMAhuggedQUEEN ELIZABETH. Although we didn't exactly go to war over that. And it sounds like this will be a similar non-issue. Will and Kate are a NEW BREED of royal.
A Palace spokesman recently said, quote, "When they're meeting people, they want to have a conversation without the other person worrying too much about how to address them.
"The message is, address them in whatever way you feel most comfortable."
E! Will Televise Lance Bass' Wedding . . . But Justin Timberlake Won't Be There
LANCE BASSwill marry his boyfriend Michael Turchin a week from this Saturday, on December 20th. And E! will be there to film it for a 90-minute special called "Lance Loves Michael: The Lance Bass Wedding". It'll air on February 5th.
Unfortunately, the one guy you're hoping to see isn't going to be there. Obviously I'm talking about JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE. He's the only member of N' SYNC who can't make it.
Lance says, quote, "That's his last date on tour and I had no idea he'd be touring right next to Christmas. He'll be the only guy not able to make it that day."
Lance is psyched that people even want to see his wedding in the first place . . . quote, "To know that people are excited to see something like this go down just shows you how much things have changed and we're just honored to be a part of that change . . .
"There's a lot of little kids out there in small towns that need something like this."
Tabloid Trash: Could Rihanna Be Pregnant?
The rarely-reliable MediaTakeOut.com says RIHANNA is pregnant. And they're 100% GUARANTEEING it's true . . . so there's that. There's no word who the dad is. Rihanna supposedly just found out days ago.
They say Rihanna is working on a song for her new album where she'll talk about, quote, "the baby growing inside me." Also, she has BANNED ALL WEED SMOKING in the studio . . . which is totally uncharacteristic of her.
47-Year-Old Nicole Kidman Still Wants to Get Pregnant
NICOLE KIDMAN reveals in a new interview with "Elle" magazine that she and KEITH URBAN are trying to make more babies.

"Billboard's" Top 100 Artists of the Year
"Billboard" has published its comprehensive Best of 2014 rundown. It's more objective than some of the other "End of the Year" lists because it's based on hard numbers, like album, song and ticket sales, chart performance, and so on.
For example, their "Top 100 Artists of the Year" list is based on each artist's performance on the Billboard Hot 100 songs and Billboard 200 albums charts. ONE DIRECTION topped that list.
DIDDYapparently put a pretty serious hurtin' on DRAKE outside a Miami nightclub called Liv on Sunday night. Some people are saying it happened because Drake said something nasty to Diddy's girlfriend CASSIE.
But it sounds like it was actually about money. A source says, quote, "Diddy claimed that Drake was using music without the proper rights."
Whatever the case, Diddy picked up the "W". A source says, quote, "Drake definitely got the [crap] kicked out of him. I heard they were taking him to the hospital."
A second source also claims Drake went to the hospital, claiming it was for a separated shoulder. Diddy is 45 . . . Drake is 28.
The beef between Diddy and Drake might go back to last February, when they were performing during NBA All-Star Weekend.
As you may recall, Drake's microphone crapped out on him, so he yanked Diddy's mic right out of his hand, and dropped his own to the ground.
So Diddy, not knowing what was going on, bent down and picked up Drake's microphone LIKE A DOPE, and started trying to sing into it.
Did Leonardo DiCaprio Really Leave a Miami Club With 20 Women?
Speaking of Miami, it was the place to be last week. There were parties all over the place thanks to some big art show. MILEY CYRUS was there performing in pasties, dancing with strippers and making out with PARIS HILTON.
Well, LEONARDO DICAPRIO was still partying in Miami on Saturday night . . . and he left a club with, well pretty much all the women. A witness said, quote, "He left with 20 girls. Leo and 20 girls. He is my hero."
There were other dudes at the club, but it sounds like they couldn't hang. Especially JOE JONAS. The witness says, quote, "Jonas looked scared, like he was going to drown and suffocate in the women. His face was hilarious."
Taylor Swift Would Like Us to Stop Assuming She's Hooking Up All Her Friends
As fun as it is, you have to admit the whole "TAYLOR SWIFT gets around" thing has really gotten out of control. I mean, now we're accusing her of having relations with all her FEMALE friends, too.
Thanks to some very suspect pictures and video, people were suggesting that Taylor was making out with Victoria's Secret model KARLIE KLOSS at a concert last week.
Well, Taylor has a message for all of us who've been making sport of her alleged love life. She Tweeted, quote, "As my 25th birthday present from the media, I'd like for you to stop accusing all my friends of dating me. #thirsty"
Charlie Sheen Says Chuck Lorre Is the Only Person Standing in the Way of Him Returning to "Two and a Half Men"
CHARLIE SHEEN recently said he wanted to return for the final episode of "Two and a Half Men" as a "tip of the hat to the fans." Now, he says ONE person is standing in the way: The show's creator Chuck Lorre.
Charlie told the paparazzi, quote, "I got clearance from the whole cast . . . [and] all the suits. There's one guy who's blocking it, [Chuck Lorre]. If it doesn't happen, it's a crime against entertainment humanity.
"That's on you Chuck, if you don't let it happen. Do the right thing, Chuck. Get out of your own way . . . oh wait, that's impossible."

Anderson Cooper Had an Emergency Appendectomy, And Joked That He Was Assured His Infamous Giggle Would Remain Intact
ANDERSON COOPER was a no-show on CNN on Monday night, and that's because he underwent an emergency appendectomy the night before.
He started having stomach pains last week . . . and initially thought he might have food poisoning. When it didn't get better, he went to the doctor . . . was diagnosed with appendicitis . . . and was rushed to the E.R.
He was back on the air last night.

Can Kourtney Kardashian "Break the Internet" With Some Nude Pregnant Pics?
If KIM KARDASHIAN didn't "break the Internet" with naked booty pics, she came pretty close. Because the photos from that shoot were EVERYWHERE for a solid week. And they're STILL popping up.
Well, it looks like Kim's sister KOURTNEY wants in on that action, because she posed for some NUDE and NEARLY-NUDE photos for "DuJour" magazine. And in case you didn't know, she's very pregnant right now.
The funny thing is, Kourtney says she probably wouldn't do this if she WASN'T pregnant . . . quote, "What appeals to me is celebrating the shape of my body being pregnant and capturing that time in my life.
"It's a wonderful thing to be able to show my children these photographs one day and say, 'This was you inside.'"

KANYE WEST and CARRIE UNDERWOOD also performed. Footage from the show was also a part of ESPN's "Monday Night Countdown" last night.
NBC Will Burn Through the Final Season of "Parks and Recreation" in Just Over One Month
The "final" season of some shows . . . like "Breaking Bad" and "Mad Men" . . . is drawn out over several YEARS. But NBC is taking the opposite approach with "Parks and Recreation".
The network has announced that the seventh and final season will premiere on Tuesday, January 13th. There will be 13 episodes . . . and they're going to burn through them in just over ONE MONTH.
There will be two back-to-back new episodes every week, leading up to the one-hour series finale on February 24th.

Christian Bale Says George Clooney Should Just "Shut Up" and "Stop Whining" About the Paparazzi
In addition to playing Batman, CHRISTIAN BALE and GEORGE CLOONEY have something else in common: They've both had their battles with the tabloids. But they have a different approach to handling it.
While George has been fighting the paparazzi, and speaking out about the importance of privacy, Christian says he should just LET IT GO.
He tells the "Wall Street Journal", quote, "It doesn't matter that he talks about it. It's like, come on, guys, just shut up. Just get on with it . . . live your lives, and stop whining about it. I prefer not to whine about it."
While it's hard not to engage, Christian says that's a lose-lose situation. There was a time when Christian was in Italy with his wife, and a photographer would hang around and say horrible things to his wife, to try to provoke him.
He says, quote, "One day I walk out and I see him. I go after him, and he gets all these shots of me coming after him. Bingo, he's hit gold.
"He gets exactly what he wants, smiles and walks off. And I feel like an ass because I've given him what he wanted."
A Former Creed Member Think Scott Stapp Seems Fine But Scott's Son Disagrees
Former CREED singer SCOTT STAPP posted several paranoid videos last week and his wife wants him to be hospitalized but not everyone thinks there's a problem.
Creed bassist Brian Marshall thinks he's fine. On Facebook, he said, quote, "I've reached out to Scott. We talked briefly yesterday and he seems to be okay . . . I let him know that we were all worried, and if he needed a sober friend to talk to, that I'm always available."
But Scott's 16-year-old son Jagger has a different take. He Tweeted, quote, "My Dad is too busy posting [stuff on] Facebook for attention rather than getting his act together. #DadStop.
"[He] once again chose drugs over his family. He needs help, but refuses to get it. He's been on a nine-week binge."
Former Creed Singer Scott Stapp May Have Gone Insane
It sounds like former CREED singer SCOTT STAPP is having some sort of mental breakdown.
A few days ago, Scott posted a 15-minute video on Facebook . . . where he ranted about how he was "penniless" and living at a Holiday Inn.
He said, quote, "About eight weeks ago, I began an audit of not only my record company but my personal finances . . . a lot money was stolen from me, or royalties not paid, and that's when all hell began to break loose."
Earlier in the week, Scott's wife filed for divorce, and asked for full custody of the children. In her filing, she released text messages she said she got from Scott . . . where he says crazy stuff like, quote, "Florida is not safe. Biological weapons on the way. You have to leave with kids and meet me in Atlanta."
And, quote, "I'm coming to get you Satan and children. No mercy. You know how this ends. God created you and now God is ending you."
Scott had been placed on a 72-hour involuntary psych hold earlier this month . . . after being found on the side of the road, rambling about how someone was trying to poison him.
His wife is trying to get him back in the hospital. She says he's been blowing his money on drugs . . . that he hears voices . . . and recently left a message with the dean of his kid's school, warning that the place was the target of an ISIS attack.
Then, Scott posted a couple more videos from outside a police building in Florida. He was there trying to file a report against his bank. The general theme of both videos was that he was wronged by his management and two separate banks over the years, resulting in a loss of millions.
All the videos have since been deleted from his Facebook page, and replaced by this message: Quote, "I'm going to step back and let God control everything from here on."

Carrie Underwood Hyperventilates When She's in a Crowd
CARRIE UNDERWOOD has no problem performing in front of crowds, but she freaks out when she's IN one. She discovered that as a kid while shopping on Black Friday. She says, quote, "I do not do crowds, never have.
"Mom and I would go to Walmart on some big sale or Black Friday . . . and I'd have to leave the store because I would hyperventilate and need to get out."
These days Carrie stays calm by shopping in the comfort of her own home: Quote, "I like the online shopping. I'm more of a Cyber Monday kinda girl, not so much [a] Black Friday kinda girl."
