Rihanna Instigated Two Unrelated Arrests in Thailand . . . After Inadvertently Ratting Them Out on Twitter
RIHANNA is no longer in Thailand, and the locals are probably HAPPY about that . . . because her social media posts kept getting them into trouble with the law. Here's what happened:
Last month, Rihanna Tweeted about being at a WILD Thai bar, where a dirty sex show happened onstage.
She Tweeted, quote, "Either I was wasted last night, or I saw a Thai woman pull a live bird, two turtles, razors, shoot darts and ping pong, all out of her [nether region] . . .
"THEN she tried to turn water into coke in ['there']!! Uhh yea, all I'm saying is water went in, and soda came out! I'm traumatized!!! . . . Only in Thailand."
Well, this tipped off the local authorities, who tracked down the bar, arrested the owner, and charged him with obscenity and operating without a permit.
A local cop says, quote, "[We] found out about this bar the morning after Rihanna tweeted about it, but we were not able to catch them violating the law until Saturday night. We had been waiting for them and finally caught them red-handed."
The bar owner is facing up to a year in prison, and a $1,900 fine.
Meanwhile, Rihanna had also posted an Instagram photo of herself playing with a "slow loris" . . . an endangered mammal that looks like a big-eyed baby Ewok.
That led Thai police to arrest a 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, who could face charges of possession of protected animals. They're looking at up to four years in prison, and a 1,300 fine.
Jon Bon Jovi Walked a Female Fan Down the Aisle at Her Wedding
This is pretty cool: JON BON JOVI walked a female fan down the aisle at her wedding. The ceremony was in Vegas . . . but the bride is from Australia.
The woman had launched a campaign on Facebook to try to get it to happen. Obviously, she got his attention . . . and since he was already going to be in town, he agreed to do it.
They even played "Livin' on a Prayer" as he was walking her down.
"Bachelor" Sean Lowe and the Winner of His Love Have Actually Set a Wedding Date
We may be on the cusp of seeing HISTORY. The most recent "Bachelor", SEAN LOWE, and the winner of his love, CATHERINE GIUDICI, have actually set a wedding date.
It's scheduled to go down on January 26th . . . and it will air live on ABC.
This is notable because . . . in 17 seasons . . . NO "Bachelor" couple has EVER gotten married. That is, among the couples which were created ON the show.
Season 13's Jason Mesnick is still married to Molly Malaney, but that doesn't count because Jason initially chose Melissa Rycroft, before dumping her for Molly, who was the runner-up. Jason and Molly have been married for three years.
"The Bachelorette" has been slightly more successful. Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter from Season One have been married for 10 years, and Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum from Season Seven have been married for 10 months.
The most recent "Bachelorette", Desiree Hartsock, and her chosen one, Chris Siegfried, are still engaged, but they haven't set a wedding date yet.
In all, just four of the couples from these shows are still together, across 26 seasons. That's a 15% success rate . . . although two of the "successes" haven't even been together for a year yet.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves, Sean and Catherine haven't walked down the aisle yet . . . and wedding dates have been set in the past, only to be scrapped before the big day.
Sir Anthony Hopkins Binge-Watched "Breaking Bad", Then Wrote a Love Letter to Bryan Cranston
SIR ANTHONY HOPKINS recently "binge-watched" all five seasons of "Breaking Bad" in just two weeks. And he LOVED it. He sent an email to BRYAN CRANSTON saying, quote, "Your performance as Walter White was the best acting I have seen, EVER . . . [the show was] awesome."
STEVEN MICHAEL QUEZADA, who played Steven Gomez on "Breaking Bad", posted the email on Facebook.
Steven has since deleted the Facebook post . . . but Anthony's rep has confirmed that the message is legit.
"The Walking Dead" Returned to Monster Ratings
"The Walking Dead" returned for its fourth season on Sunday night, and it had MONSTER ratings.
According to Nielsen, the episode drew 16.1 million viewers, which smashed the show's previous record by nearly four million. The previous mark was set in March, when 12.4 million people tuned in for the third season finale.
16.1 million viewers would be big for the broadcast networks . . . and it's a MAMMOTH number for cable. AMC is doing well right now. In addition to this, the "Breaking Bad" series finale just had 10.3 million viewers two weeks ago.
5.1 million people stuck around for the after-show, "The Talking Dead".
Also, "The Walking Dead" generated 1.17 million tweets from 570,148 different accounts during the premiere, including nearly 40,000 Tweets about the show in the first minute of the East Coast broadcast.
