It's On! Between Miley Cyrus and Sinead O'Connor
MILEY CYRUS has found herself in a full-on social media dust-up with 80s singer SINEAD O'CONNOR.
It started earlier this week when Sinead wrote a lengthy open letter to Miley expressing concern over her current artistic direction.
She said, quote, "You will obscure your talent by allowing yourself to be pimped, whether it's the music business or yourself doing the pimping. Nothing but harm will come in the long run, from allowing yourself to be exploited."
She added, quote, "You are worth more than your body or your sexual appeal. You have enough talent that you don't need to let the music business make a prostitute of you.
"The message you keep sending is that it's somehow cool to be prostituted . . . it's so not cool Miley . . . it's dangerous."
So Miley fought back by going on Twitter and calling Sinead CRAZY. She Tweeted, quote, "Before AMANDA BYNES . . . there was . . . "
Then Miley posted some of Sinead's Tweets from two years ago, when she was going through some tough times. They included these:
"I desperately need to get back on meds today. Am in serious danger."
"Does anyone know a psychiatrist . . . who could urgently see me today please? I'm really un-well. And in danger."
Miley also posted a picture of Sinead ripping a photo of Pope John Paul the Second on "Saturday Night
Live" back in 1992.
That prompted ANOTHER, much angrier letter from Sinead. This time she said, quote, "Miley . . . Really? Who the [eff] is advising you? Because taking me on is even more [effin'] stupid than behaving like a prostitute and calling it feminism."
She added, quote, "[H]ave you any idea how stupid and dangerous it is to mock people for suffering illness? You will yourself one day suffer such illness, that is without doubt. The course you have set yourself upon can only end in that, trust me."
She also defended her actions on "SNL" back in the day, saying, quote, "By mocking it you mock every child who suffered sexual abuse at the hands of priests and had it covered by the Vatican.
"You could really do with educating yourself, that is if you're not too busy getting your [boobs] out to read." (Of course she didn't say "boobs". She used the word that rhymes with BITS. Check out all Sinead's messages on her Facebook page.)
Miley responded last night, but she pulled things back a little. She also threw in a PLUG.
She said, quote, "Sinead. I don't have time to write you an open letter cause Im hosting & performing on SNL this week. So if you'd like to meet up and talk lemme know in your next letter. :)"
Britney Spears Says She Gets Pressured to Be Overly Sexual
In a radio interview yesterday, BRITNEY SPEARS suggested that she's being pressured to be overly sexual.
When talking about her new video for "Work [B-word]", Britney was asked if she feels any less comfortable about flaunting her body, now that she's grown up and a mom.
She responded, quote, "Oh my God, we showed way more skin and did way more stuff for the video than what is actually there. I cut out half the video because I'm a mother and because, you know, I have children . . .
"And it's hard to play sexy mom while you're, you know, being a pop star as well."
When directly asked if "they're pushing her further than she wants to go," she laughed and said, quote, "Yes."
She added, quote, "A lot of sex goes into what I do. But sometimes I would like to bring it back to the old days when . . . there's like not that much sex stuff . . . and just making it about the dance."
After the interview, Britney's manager and her father . . . who's acting as her conservator . . . denied that she's pressured into being sexy.
They released a statement saying, quote, "Britney is NEVER pressured into anything. She reviews all creative and for her 'Work [B-word]' video she discussed toning down some parts in finding a balance of sexy and being a mom."
For what it's worth, Britney turns 32 in December.
Katy Perry Says She's Too Old to Flaunt Her Body Like Rihanna Does
In a British radio interview, KATY PERRY said she thinks she's too old to show off her body in public like RIHANNA does.
She said, quote, "I'm just getting a little bit older, and [realized] I don't know if I can pull that off any more. If I had Rihanna's body I would wear everything that Rihanna wears, because she looks fabulous in all of it."
For what it's worth, Katy turns 29 in three weeks. Rihanna is 25.
And like BRITNEY SPEARS just said in a recent interview, Katy said she wants people to pay more attention to her as an entertainer, than as a sex symbol.
She said, quote, "I want to keep the attention on my music. I really have a lot of confidence in my songs that are coming out, and that's where I need most of the focus . . . it's important for me to keep it about the music."
Nicki Minaj Didn't Hook Up With Zac Efron . . . But Apparently She Wouldn't Mind
The "Star" tabloid reported that NICKI MINAJ hooked up with ZAC EFRON over the summer. Apparently it's not true, because she Tweeted, quote, "Who exactly is Zac Efron tho? I'm sorry, I'm so confused."
One of Nicki's followers helped her out by sending her a shirtless photo of Zac . . . to which Nicki replied, quote, "Oooohhhh ok… Well I guess that rumor isn't so bad after all. lmfao."
Will Stacy Keibler's Breakup With George Clooney Force Her Back Into Wrestling?
The WWE tried to get STACY KEIBLER back for a few appearances when she started dating GEORGE CLOONEY. She wasn't interested.
But now that George is out of the picture, and Stacy is used to living the high life, she might be changing her tune.
A source says, quote, "Stacy had it all. Private jets, a mind-blowing wardrobe, whatever she wanted was at her beck and call. She even spent thousands on a high-tech tanning bed."
"Since they split, Stacy's had to give up a lot. But she still buys the best of everything and splashes out big bucks every week at the spa. She has two trainers, a health coach and a private chef."
The source adds, quote, "Stacy is considering making a one-time appearance on the wrestling circuit . . . She estimates she NEEDS over $50,000 a month to support her current lifestyle.
"She admits a return to wrestling isn't quite what she had in mind, but the offers are getting too good to refuse."
Stacy started her rasslin' career in WCW in 1999 . . . then became a WWE "Diva" in 2001. She left in 2006.
There Are Now Two Reality Shows In Development, Which Claim They're Sending People to Space

Meanwhile, NBC has picked up ANOTHER space reality show called "Space Race". Reality show super producer Mark Burnett is behind this one.
It'll feature everyday people vying for a spot on Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo. There are no further details on the show . . . or when it might premiere.

We've heard numerous celebrities are interested in that . . . including Justin Bieber, Ashton Kutcher, Tom Cruise, Russell Brand, old-school "Dallas" star Victoria Principal, director Bryan Singer and Stephen Hawking.
