A Homeless Guy Punched Zac Efron in the Face . . . Was He Trying to Buy Drugs?
ZAC EFRON was punched in the face in a bizarre incident in the Skid Row area of downtown L.A. last weekend.  It's a place filled with homeless people, and shady stuff that often involves drugs.  Here's what we know . . .
For some reason, Zac and a bodyguard "mysteriously" ended up there after midnight on Saturday night.  Cops spotted them in a fight with at least three other guys, and broke it up.
Zac told them his car ran out of gas, and while he was waiting for a tow truck, he threw a bottle out his car window.  And the homeless people thought he was throwing the bottle at THEM.
He told police, quote, "It was the hardest I've ever been hit in my life."  But no one was arrested because the cops considered it, quote, "mutual combat."
We're assuming Zac is okay . . . even though he broke his jaw four months ago in another bizarre incident, where he slipped and fell at his house.
Not surprisingly, some people are speculating that he was there to buy DRUGS.  There's been a lot of talk over the past year about his alleged drug problem, and he was reportedly in rehab twice for cocaine abuse.
In any event, the bodyguard tells TMZ that Zac is a HERO.  He says they were downtown to go to a restaurant . . . and were assaulted when they got stranded.
He claims the homeless men came at him with a "SPEAR," and stabbed him in the face, stomach, and chest.  And Zac came to his DEFENSE . . . swinging a vodka bottle as a weapon, and, quote, "saved his life."
Nick Cannon Says He and Mariah Carey Didn't Have Sex Until Their Wedding Night . . . And He Also Dissed Kim Kardashian
In an interview yesterday, NICK CANNON said that he and MARIAH CAREY didn't have sex until their wedding night.  Not surprisingly, it was all Mariah's idea.
He added, quote, "I [effed] the [crap] out of her."  Of course, he was PROMPTED by the host to use that phrase, and he regretted it.  He joked that Mariah was going to cuss him out for, quote, "bein' so crude and nasty."
Nick was also asked to name five famous women he's nailed, and he didn't really have any surprises.  He copped out by starting with Mariah.  Then he added Kim Kardashian, Christina Milian, Nicole Scherzinger and Selita Ebanks.
He added, quote, "This is L.A. . . . That's the whole purpose, you have sex with actresses, singers, models."
The interviewer didn't actually know about Kim . . . so Nick said, quote, "You just forgot because there's been a lot of people since me."
Then he tried to cover for himself by saying Kim was a "great girl" and saying that she and her family are, quote, "some of the most incredible people I've ever met in my life."
Stephen Colbert Says He Didn't Write An Offensive Tweet
On Twitter early Friday, STEPHEN COLBERT wrote that the offending tweet sent from his Comedy Central show's verified Twitter account was not written by him. He also says he's unaware who wrote it. The Colbert Show Twitter account also sent out tweets early Friday denying he had anything to do with the tweet.
On Wednesday's Colbert Report, Stephen made fun of Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder's recently announced Washington Redskins Original Americans Foundation. Snyder created the charity "to provide resources that offer genuine opportunities for Tribal communities," according to a press release, but Colbert mocked it as an attempt at positive PR for the NFL team and its controversial name, which many consider to be racist.
Playing off of Wednesday's segment, the verified Twitter account for The Colbert Show posted this tweet on Thursday to its 1 million followers:
I am willing to show #Asian community I care by introducing the Ching-Chong Ding-Dong Foundation for Sensitivity to Orientals or Whatever.— The Colbert Report (@ColbertReport)
"Ching-Chong Ding-Dong" is a reference to a satirical Asian caricature Colbert has assumed on the show in the past, including a January 2011 segment attacking Rush Limbaugh. It was also part of Wednesday's segment about the Redskins.
After outrage erupted on the social network, the tweet was deleted, but not before the #CancelColbert hashtag started trending. (USA Today)
James Van Der Beek Once Let an Underage Justin Timberlake Use His Driver's License to Get Into a Club
Back in the late '90s, JAMES VAN DER BEEK let JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE use his driver's license to get into a club . . . and it WORKED.
It happened in Vegas . . . and at the time, both 'N SYNC and "Dawson's Creek" were just starting out.  Justin was 17 years old, and James was 21.
James says, quote, "We were all going to some club and they were all too young.  And so I went in and somehow passed my I.D. back so that Justin could get in with [it].
"Justin used it to get in, and then tried to pass it out so LANCE [BASS] could get in.  [But] by the third time [the bouncers] saw a James Van Der Beek I.D., they were like, 'Ah, I don't think so James.'"
Weekend Box Office:  Schwarzenegger's "Sabotage" is Up Against Russell Crowe in "Noah"
1.  "Noah"  (PG-13)
Russell Crowe plays Noah in the biblical story of the man chosen by God to build an ark and gather the world's creatures to survive the great flood.  It's directed by Darren Aronofsky, the guy who did "The Wrestler" and "Black Swan".
Jennifer Connelly plays Noah's wife, and Anthony Hopkins plays Methuselah, the oldest living man.  Emma Watson from the "Harry Potter" movies, "Percy Jackson" star Logan Lerman, and Nick Nolte are also in it.
The director actually won a contest back in the seventh grade for writing a poem about Noah, and he says, quote, "Noah's been kind of this patron saint in my life.  We made sure everything we did in the film would respect the written word."
That included the ark's measurements . . . which is exactly 500 feet long.
2.  "Sabotage"  (R)
Arnold Schwarzenegger, "Avatar's" Sam Worthington, Josh Holloway from "Lost", Joe Manganiello from "True Blood", and Terrence Howard are part of a DEA task force that's being killed off on-by-one after one of them steals $10 million from a cartel drug bust.
