Ben Affleck Was Banned from Playing Blackjack at a Casino for Allegedly Counting Cards
BEN AFFLECK was allegedly kicked out of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas last week, after security thought they caught him counting cards while playing blackjack.
So-called "sources" say security "swarmed" the table while Ben was playing, and told him, quote, "We have to stop you, because you're too good."
Ben hasn't commented, but there are reports that he was banned FOR LIFE. Supposedly, the casino ONLY banned him from the blackjack tables . . . and is otherwise cool with him being there, and playing other games.
In a vaguely worded statement, a casino spokesperson said, quote, "Mr. Affleck, a valued guest of Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, is not banned from our property and is welcome back any time."
The practice of "counting cards" is NOT illegal . . . but obviously, it can create an advantage over the House, so it's frowned upon by casinos.
It's unclear how much Ben was up at the time . . . although he reportedly made $800,000 at the same casino in 2001, by playing three $20,000 blackjack hands at once. (Here's a video report on the alleged blackjack ban.)
President Obama's Best Jokes from the White House Correspondents' Dinner
The White House Correspondents' Dinner went down on Saturday in Washington. That's where all the media bigwigs get together and bring celebrity guests like JESSICA SIMPSON and people from "Duck Dynasty".
They get a comedian to host the show, and basically roast everybody in the room. This year it was JOEL MCHALE from "Community". And perhaps most importantly, the president himself gets to cut loose and tell a few jokes.
Here were some of PRESIDENT OBAMA'S best jabs . . . many of which were at his OWN expense . . .
"MSNBC is here as well. They're a little overwhelmed. They've never seen an audience this big before."
"Colorado legalized marijuana this year. An interesting social experiment. I do hope it doesn't lead to a lot of paranoid people who think the federal government is out to get them and listening to their phone calls."
"Let's face it, Fox, you'll miss me when I'm gone. It'll be harder to convince the American people that Hillary was born in Kenya."
"The House Republicans give John Boehner a harder time than they give me. Which means orange really is the new black."
"Gridlock has gotten so bad in this town, you have to wonder . . . what'd we do to piss off Chris Christie so bad?"
McHale had some good ones, too, like these: "I know the Kardashians are Republicans, because they're always trying to screw black people."
"Every year, the White House doctor checks the President's colon for polyps . . . and George Clooney's head."
"Robert De Niro is here tonight. I don't do an impression of Robert De Niro, but I do an impression of Robert De Niro's agent. 'Ring ring. He'll do it!'"
Will Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Work Together Again?
The last time BRAD PITT and ANGELINA JOLIE made a movie together, JENNIFER ANISTON'S life completely unraveled. Hopefully that doesn't happen this time . . .
Sources say the Jolie-Pitts will star in a movie together that Angelina wrote. There's no word on the plot, or even what kind of movie it is.
Brad left Jennifer shortly after filming the 2005 movie "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" with Angelina.
Kerry Washington Had Her Baby
It's hard to believe she could keep it a secret this long, but KERRY WASHINGTON gave birth to a baby girl . . . on April 21st. That was TWO WEEKS AGO.
She's the first child for Kerry and her husband, former NFL star NNAMDI ASOMUGHA. Kerry is 37 . . . Nnamdi is 32.
"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" Made $92 Million This Weekend
"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" made $92 million at the box office this weekend, which is right on par with the $95 million the "Captain America" sequel made in its first weekend last month.
That's also BETTER than the first "Amazing Spider-Man", which made $62 million in 2012 . . . which is good news for the studio.
The second movie for TOBEY MAGUIRE'S original trilogy started out as a bit of a box office letdown, going from a $115 million opening weekend for "Spider-Man" to an $88 million first weekend for "Spider-Man 2".
