The Food Network Has Fired Paula Deen

The Food Network FIRED PAULA DEEN on Friday, after she admitted during a court deposition that she'd used the N-word in the past.  Paula's response was to THANK the Food Network for, quote, 11 "great years."

(The Food Network is NOT canceling two shows that feature Paula's sons:  "Not My Mama's Meals with Bobby Deen" and "Home for Dinner with Jamie Deen".)

Prior to her firing, Paula ditched a scheduled appearance on the "Today" show, where she was supposed to discuss her comments with MATT LAUER.  Her people said she was TOO EXHAUSTED to make it.

She also issued TWO video apologies.  They're both pretty vague and cookie-cutter.  The first one has several edits in it, and in the second, she rambles and meanders quite a bit.

Paula will more than likely be just fine, even if she never gets another gig.  Forbes estimates her wealth at $17 million. Network sources said she was paid between $10,000 and $20,000 for each episode of her various shows.

Bret Michaels Was Hurt When His Tour Bus Hit a Herd of Deer, But He'll Survive

On Friday morning, BRET MICHAELS was hurt when his tour bus hit a herd of deer while he was on his way to a show in Biloxi, Mississippi.  But fortunately, he's OK, and was able to make the gig.

He says, quote, "Except for some bumps and bruises I'm thankful there were no serious injuries.  It's unfortunate for the deer, but thankfully . . . due to modern RV technology and a steel firewall . . . we are all OK."

Aaron Carter Claims He Was Assaulted by Some Thugs, Because He Was Performing on New Kids on the Block's Turf?

AARON CARTER claims he was assaulted in Boston . . . just because he was performing there, and it's NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK'S territory.  And it happened THIS weekend . . . not 15 years ago.

Here's the story:  Aaron says he was leaving dinner with a friend in Boston on Saturday, when he was jumped.  But it wasn't a robbery . . . it was a TURF WAR.

Aaron says a "huge guy" approached him in the parking lot, and yelled, quote, "I heard you're doing a show here tomorrow.  This is the town of the New Kids."

Then, three other guys jumped out of "a gold Chevy Malibu" . . . and started WAILING on Aaron.  At some point in the beat-down, he was clocked in the FACE.  He fought back, and eventually the guys retreated to the vehicle and took off.

Aaron tells TMZ, quote, "I think my knuckles might be broken, but that's what they get.  People think I'm a pretty little white boy, but no way.  I think I won.  I'm still standing."

He went ahead with his performance last night . . . and he says he's NOT filing a police report because that's, quote, "girlie."

Aaron posted photos of his black eye and banged up knuckles on Instagram . . . with the caption:  "JORDAN KNIGHT, this one of your homies?  He got his ass handed to him last night but his boys got me."

But on Twitter, he said he doesn't necessarily KNOW that they were actual New Kids on the Block fans.  He said, quote, "It's true, I got my ass jumped last night.  But I'm a soldier.

"The Jordan Knight thing was a joke.  I was just referring to Boston, and he's my only friend here!  Just 'cause someone says NKOTB turf doesn't mean it was their fans.  Y'all are so stupid to believe that . . . I'm done talking about it."

Madonna is Having Teenage Daughter Drama

Being the Queen of Pop doesn't necessarily make you a cool mom.  That's what MADONNA is finding out. She says her daughter is no longer talking to her.

She tells ABC, "Lourdes has stopped talking to me and Rocco's looking at girls' butts. "Ever since my daughter got an iPhone she stopped talking to me. Seeing my daughter at 16 - it's kind of uncomfortable. She's still my little girl and she's also a woman.''

"Monsters University" Beat "World War Z" at the Box Office

The 3-D Pixar movie "Monsters University" beat BRAD PITT'S "World War Z" at the box office this weekend . . . $82 million to $66 million.

It's the 14th straight #1 movie for Pixar, and their second-biggest debut EVER, behind "Toy Story 3", which made $110 million in 2010.

The original "Monsters Inc." opened with $62.6 million in 2001.  Although, when you account for inflation, that equals about $82 million today . . . and that's without 3-D tickets sales.

Here are this week's Top 5 movies:

1.  (NEW)  "Monsters University", $82 million.

2.  (NEW)  "World War Z", $66 million.

3.  "Man of Steel", $41.2 million.  Up to $210 million in its 2nd week.

4.  "This Is the End", $13 million.  Up to $57.8 million in its 2nd week.

5.  "Now You See Me", $7.9 million.  Up to $94.5 million in its 4th week.
