MILEY CYRUS and LIAM HEMSWORTH are engaged. Miley told "People" magazine, quote, "I'm so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam."
--After getting well-wishes from her Twitter followers, she replied, quote, "Thank you for all the love today :) I'm happy to share this news with you all. I feel like all my dreams are coming true. Have a great day."
--Miley's dad BILLY RAY CYRUS Tweeted, quote, "All I ever hoped for as a Daddy was to see my kids reach their dreams. To find happiness... peace of mind... and someday know... true love."
--Miley met Liam on the set of her movie "The Last Song" in 2009. At the time, he was pretty much an unknown. Now he plays Gale in the "Hunger Games" movies, and he's in "The Expendables 2", which hits theaters in August.
--They actually split up twice in 2010. The first time they were apart for about a month. The second split was several months longer. Miley is 19 . . . Liam is 22. His older brother is CHRIS HEMSWORTH, who plays Thor.
--I suppose you ladies are wondering about THE ROCK. Here's how "People" magazine describes it . . . quote, "A 3.5-carat cushion-cut diamond ring, handcrafted in 18-karat gold with intricately carved diamond floral motifs in an art nouveau pattern.
--"The center stone is an antique dating back to the late 19th century." There's no word how much it cost, but a so-called "jeweler to the stars" estimates that it's worth around $100,000.
Charlie Sheen Admits He Wasn't Really "Winning" Last Year
In the new issue of "Rolling Stone", CHARLIE SHEEN mocks himself for using the term "winning" during his epic meltdown last year.
--He says, quote, "Clearly, a guy gets fired, his relationships are in the toilet, he's off on some [effing] tour, there's nothing 'winning' about any of that.
--"I mean, how does a guy who's obviously quicksanded, how does he consider any of it a victory? I was in total denial."
--And Charlie admits he's not completely sober . . . quote, "I don't see what's wrong with a few drinks."
--He likes his vodka straight because, quote, "ice is for injuries." (???)
A Real Study Finds Bieber Fever Is More Contagious Than the Measles?
An actual, real study has found that "Bieber Fever" is more contagious than the measles. Seriously. Sort of.
--Canadian researchers who use formulas to predict the spread of diseases are suggesting that Bieber Fever could be the most contagious disease of our time.
--The symptoms include: "Uncontrollable crying and / or screaming, excessive purchasing of memorabilia, and distraction from everyday life and poor life choices, such as copying his signature hairdo."
--The study reports, quote, "Through constant exposure, Bieber Fever has incubated and spread. Millions are already infected, with more at risk every day. Action is urgently needed." (???)
--So here's the deal: The researchers were using Bieber Fever in a "modeling exercise," as a STAND-IN for the way an ACTUALinfectious disease spreads.
--One of the researchers explains, quote, "Obviously it's not formally a disease, but it has the hallmarks of a disease. And so it behaves the way a disease would."
Mark-Paul Gosselaar Says "Saved By the Bell" Is "Not a Great Show"
MARK-PAUL GOSSELAAR became a LIVING LEGEND for playing Zack Morris on "Saved By the Bell" . . . but apparently, he doesn't hold the show in as high esteem as the rest of us do.
--He says, quote, "It's not a great show . . . the writing is kind of hokey . . . it's very much a piece of that time."
--Mark-Paul also says that he doesn't understand why it became such a huge hit in syndication. He adds, "We just thought we were doing a small little Saturday morning show and no one was watching.
--"We were almost canceled every season. So we never got big heads . . . the two years after 'Saved By the Bell' I couldn't buy myself a job, because nobody had seen the show."
Is "Happy Days" Star Erin Moran Broke and Living in a Trailer Park in Indiana?
If the "National Enquirer" is telling the truth, these are NOT happy days for ERIN MORAN.
--Erin is, of course, the fine thespian who portrayed Joanie Cunningham on both "Happy Days" and the spin-off, "Joanie Loves Chachi".
--She's 51 now, and according to the"Enquirer", she's living at the Berkshire Pointe TRAILER PARK in New Salisbury, Indiana.
--She's living with her husband, a former furniture mover who now works at Wal-Mart, and with his elderly mother.
--They had to move there after they were evicted from their California home. But Erin is trying to keep a positive attitude and make the best of things.
--A source says, quote, "Erin is like an angel to her mother-in-law. She cooks and cleans for her and takes care of her personal hygiene. But to look at Erin today you'd never know she was once one of TV's biggest stars . . . She's aged terribly."
--She also mingles with the locals and takes pictures with people when they ask.
--And she frequents the local bar, where she once FLASHED HER BOOBS on a dare. Sadly, it didn't cause much of a stir because no one in the bar recognized her.
John Mayer Rips Into Taylor Swift for Writing a Song About Him After They Broke Up
TAYLOR SWIFT is among the many ladies JOHN MAYER has hooked up with. But what John didn't know at the time was that he was just setting himself up to be a FUTURE SONG LYRIC.
--And after they broke up, that's exactly what he became. Taylor's 2010 album "Speak Now" included the song "Dear John", with such lyrics as, quote, "Don't you think I was too young to be messed with?"
--Well, in the new issue of "Rolling Stone", John really rips into Taylor over the whole mess. He says, quote, "It made me feel terrible. Because I didn't deserve it.
--"I'm pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do."
--He adds, quote, "I never got an e-mail. I never got a phone call. I was really caught off-guard, and it really humiliated me at a time when I'd already been dressed down.
--"I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you've ever been, someone kicked you even lower?"
--And in perhaps his unkindest cut, John calls it, quote, "CHEAP SONGWRITING."
--He says, quote, "I know she's the biggest thing in the world, and I'm not trying to sink anybody's ship, but I think it's abusing your talent to rub your hands together and go, 'Wait till he gets a load of this!' That's bull[crap]."
