Sylvester Stallone's Son Sage Has Died . . . The Cause of Death is Unknown

SYLVESTER STALLONE'S son SAGE was found dead in his Los Angeles home by a maid on Friday.  He was only 36 years old.  The cause of death is unknown at this time.

--Sylvester's rep issued a statement saying he's, quote, "devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son Sage Stallone.

(--Sage’s mother Sasha was Stallone's first wife.  They also have a son named Seargeoh who is autistic.  Stallone also has three daughters with his current wife, Jennifer Flavin. )

--Sage Moonblood Stallone . . . yes, that's his real middle name . . . appeared with his dad in two movies.  In 1990, he played Rocky's son in "Rocky 5".  And he was in Sly's 1996 action flick "Daylight".

--He turned down the opportunity to play Rocky's son again in "Rocky Balboa" because of his other work obligations.

--Reports immediately surfaced that Sage died of a drug overdose.  We're not sure yet if that's the case.

--Authorities reportedly found some prescription pill bottles, but there's no word what was in them, or if they contributed to Sage's death.

--The autopsy is complete, but of course there were toxicology tests . . . and it could be four to six weeks before we know the results of those.

Jennifer Lopez Has Also Quit "American Idol" . . . Or Were She and Steven Tyler Actually Pushed Out?

On Thursday, STEVEN TYLER announced he was quitting his job as a judge on "American Idol".  On Friday, JENNIFER LOPEZ joined him.

--She announced on RYAN SEACREST'S radio show, quote, "I honestly feel like the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do, that I put . . . on hold because I love 'Idol' so much."

--BUT . . . Steven and Jennifer's split from "Idol" might NOT be as clean and amicable as they let on.

--There are some pretty credible rumors that the two of them didn't quit on their own terms . . . they were forced out over MASSIVE BUDGET CUTS.

--Jennifer made $15 MILLION last season and was pushing for $17 MILLION this year.  Steven reportedly made around $10 MILLION.

--"Idol" is still a hit TV show but it's not what it once was.  Ratings were down about 25% last year, and that, obviously, hurts the show's ad revenue.  So Fox is looking to cut back a little, and spending a fortune on judges is an easy cut.

--RANDY JACKSON'S status is still up in the air.  There have been rumors he'll be back . . . he'll be back just as a mentor, not a judge . . . or he'll be gone from the show entirely.

--The only word from him is a statement on Steven and Jennifer leaving, quote, "[They] are truly two of the most talented and consummate professionals I've ever worked with . . . I have no doubt our friendships will continue."

--With two judges gone and one maybe gone, "Idol" is back to hunting for new replacements.  There have been a lot of rumors about big names . . . but if the budget really is being cut, it could be hard to attract them.

--The rumors have included FergieNicki MinajWill.I.Am, and Mariah Carey

--Apparently the Mariah rumors are the strongest . . . "People" magazine has a source that told them she's in, quote, "serious talks" about joining the show.

--Randy Jackson is Mariah's manager, and she'd probably be the biggest "get" for the show.  SIMON COWELL tried VERY hard to get her for "X-Factor" and failed, so if she landed on "Idol" it would be a symbolic win over Simon.

--Also . . . this probably won't happen, but ARETHA FRANKLIN has announced she'd like to be a judge.  She's a legendary singer . . . plus she'd bring a variety of legendary HATS to weekly TV, so win-win.

Kim Kardashian Got Pulled Over for Not Having Any License Plates On Her Car

KIM KARDASHIAN got pulled over the other day because her $300,000 Rolls Royce didn't have license plates.  She reportedly told the cop she kept the plates in the glove compartment . . . and he let her go.

Charlie Sheen Quit Twitter

As expected, CHARLIE SHEEN quit Twitter.  His last Tweet read, quote, "reach for the stars everyone. dogspeed cadre. c out."  It was accompanied by a picture of a bottle of Tabasco sauce on the dashboard of an airplane flying above the clouds.

The Fourth "Ice Age" Movie Topped the Box Office with $46 Million

The only new wide-release this weekend was "Ice Age: Continental Drift", which easily topped the box office with $46 million.  That's almost exactly what the first "Ice Age" movie made 10 years ago, though it's much lower than 2006's "Ice Age: The Meltdown", which pulled in $68 million in its opening weekend.

--And here are this week's Top 5 movies:

1.)  (NEW)  "Ice Age: Continental Drift", $46 million.

2.)  "The Amazing Spider-Man", $35 million.  Up to $201 million in its 2nd week.

3.)  "Ted", $22.1 million.  Up to $159 million in its 3rd week.

4.)  "Brave", $10.7 million.  Up to $196 million in its 4th week.

5.)  "Magic Mike", $9 million.  Up to $91.9 million in its 3rd week.
