Miley Cyrus: The Universe Reacts
The universe is still up in arms about MILEY CYRUS' "VMA" performance Sunday night.
Here's what people are saying . . .
Kelly Clarkson: "Just saw a couple performances from the VMAs last night. 2 words . . . #pitchystrippers." (So who else was she talking about? Gaga? Katy Perry? 'N Sync? Discuss.)
James Van Der Beek: "Things I learned watching the [VMAs]: There's nothing you can do with a foam finger that you can't air on MTV."
Nick Cannon: "Remind me to never let my kids into showbiz . . . Thanks."
Billy Ray Cyrus is in silent mode so far. All he's been Tweeting about since the VMAs is making new music and . . . Syria.
In fact, hours after the VMAs he Tweeted, quote, "Thanking God for so many blessings tonight. Continue to pray for world peace. More love . . . less hate."
One last note on Billy Ray: As you would expect, the Parents Television Council went DOG NUTS over Miley's performance. And Billy Ray just happens to be on the PTC's advisory board.
Meanwhile BROOKE SHIELDS . . . who played Miley's dead mother on "Hannah Montana" . . . had this to say on the "Today" show: "I was Hannah Montana's mother. I do not approve.
"Where did I go wrong? . . . I just want to know who's advising her, and why it's necessary? . . . [Our children] can't watch that. I feel like it's a bit desperate."
Yesterday, Miley was BRAGGING about her performance to her Twitter followers. She said, quote, "Smilers! My VMA performance had 306.000 tweets per minute. That's more than the blackout or Superbowl! #fact."
She also posted some compliments "Rolling Stone" gave her, like this one . . . quote, "Miley was the one star in the room who truly understood what the MTV Video Music Awards are all about!"
As for ROBIN THICKE . . . he seemed cool with it. Before the VMAs were even over, he Tweeted, quote, "That was dope", and gave a shout-out to Miley.
There are reports that he was, quote, "bummed" because he thought this was going to be his big night and she HIJACKED his moment. But his own Tweet doesn't bear that out.
There are also reports that Robin's wife, actress PAULA PATTON, was LIVID. One source even claims she had to be physically held back from raining blows down upon Miley for rubbing up and down her man.
But then there are counter-reports that the performance was exactly what Paula expected and she was totally cool with it.
But Robin Thicke's mother GLORIA LORING made her feelings known. She said, quote, "I don't understand what Miley Cyrus is trying to do . . . I didn't get what her point was. It was so over the top as to almost be a parody of itself."
Are Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom Separated?
KHLOE KARDASHIAN and LAMAR ODOM are reportedly separated. It's not really an official separation, but Khloe did kick Lamar out of their house . . . supposedly because of his refusal to understand that CRACK IS WHACK.
And she's refusing to take him back until he cleans up his act. And by the way . . . Khloe does believe that Lamar cheated on her, but she thinks his drug addiction is the root of all their problems.
A source says Lamar is threatening to file for divorce if Khloe doesn't let him back into the house.
The agent for Lamar refuted a TMZ report Sunday that said Odom had been missing for 72 hours after a dispute with Khloe, reports ESPN.com.
ESPN is also reporting that Odom is in a Los Angeles hotel where friends are trying to get him help for an undisclosed drug problem.
