Michael Clarke Duncan Has Died

MICHAEL CLARKE DUNCAN . . . the 6-foot-5, 300-pound actor who was nominated for an Oscar for "The Green Mile" . . . died yesterday morning at a Los Angeles hospital.  He was 54 years old.

--Duncan suffered a heart attack almost two months ago, on July 13th, and had been in the hospital ever since.

--Duncan was in bed asleep at the time of the attack.  His girlfriend, "Apprentice" star OMAROSA MANIGAULT, was able to revive him with CPR.  But he never really recovered.

--A rep said, quote, "Omarosa is grateful for all of your prayers and asks for privacy at this time.  Celebrations of his life, both private and public, will be announced at a later date."

--Omarosa herself told RadarOnline.com, quote, "I am devastated.  He was the love of my life."

--Duncan started out as a bodyguard for stars like WILL SMITH and JAMIE FOXX, among others.  He was actually supposed to be guarding the NOTORIOUS B.I.G. on the night that Biggie was murdered.  That's when he decided to pursue acting full time.

--"The Green Mile" was his big break.  His other credits included "Armageddon""The Whole Nine Yards""Daredevil""Sin City" and "Talladega Nights:  The Ballad of Ricky Bobby".

While Filming a Movie About Noah's Ark, Russell Crowe Went Kayaking . . . And Had to Be Rescued by the Coast Guard

Prepare for an overload of irony:  RUSSELL CROWE is in the New York City area right now filming a movie about Noah's Ark.

--And during a break from shooting on Saturday night, Russell went out kayaking in the Atlantic Ocean with a friend . . . and had to be RESCUED.

--They lost their way after it got dark, and made their way to shore in Huntington Bay, 10 miles from where they started.

--A passing Coast Guard boat heard Russell calling out from shore and came to the rescue.  The officer who helped them out said, quote, "It wasn't really a rescue.  Really, more of just giving someone a lift."

--Russell Tweeted, quote, "Thanks to Seth and the boys from the US Coast Guard for guiding the way...4 hrs 30 mins, 7m(11.2km)."

--He added, quote, "We knew where exactly where we were, paddling around . . . into wind, we ran out of day.  Grand adventure eh."

Katy Perry and John Mayer Were Groping Each Other At a Music Festival

Maybe all those stories about JOHN MAYER breaking KATY PERRY'S heart by dumping her in an e-mail were BOGUS.  Because the two of them were together Saturday night at a music festival in Los Angeles.

--Witnesses say they were dancing and, quote, "stealing kisses" while they watched various bands.  They even posed with some fans for a picture that ended up online.

Kim Kardashian Won't Be Getting a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Anytime Soon

KIM KARDASHIAN'S dream of getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame probably won't come true anytime soon.

--A rep for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce says, quote, "Part of criteria in being honored is receiving awards such as Emmys, SAG Awards, Oscars, etc. in the category of television, live-stage performance or motion pictures.

--"They have to have a career in the business of acting for five years or more."

--As for the chance of reality stars in general joining the Walk of Fame, the rep says, quote, "Not on our radar right now."

Randy Jackson Is Definitely Done Being an "American Idol" Judge . . . Supposedly

TMZ claims RANDY JACKSON is DEFINITELY out as an "American Idol" judge . . . and will instead move into some sort of "mentoring" role, as rumored.

--So-called "sources" say some "Idol" higher-ups aren't so sure Randy is "well-suited" for a mentoring role . . . but that they feel like they need to keep him around since he's the last original judge.

--It's still unclear WHY he wouldn't just remain a judge.

The Dark Knight Rises Has Surpassed the $1 Billion Mark

"The Dark Knight Rises" is now the most successful Batman movie of all time.  It has surpassed the $1 billion mark worldwide.

--It's the 13th movie to hit that milestone, but it's 12th on the all-time list . . . just one notch ahead of its predecessor, "The Dark Knight".
