Nick Cannon Confirms That He and Mariah Carey are Separated
NICK CANNON admitted yesterday that he and MARIAH CAREY are separated. He said, quote, "There is trouble in paradise. We have been living in separate houses for a few months."
He didn't say WHY they split. He just added, quote, "My main focus is my kids." Mariah's rep refused to comment, saying her focus is, quote, "on her children and her upcoming tour."
There's still plenty of speculation, of course. One source claims the beginning of the end came when Nick admitted on a radio show that he had once hooked up with KIM KARDASHIAN. Mariah did NOT appreciate him making that public . . . and she got even MORE upset when Nick revealed that she didn't give it up to him until they were married.
She also hates that he takes every gig that comes his way, even though they don't need the money. Sources say he likes to work so people won't think he's living off Mariah's money. And that Nick is reportedly fed up with Mariah's, quote, "diva antics."
Meanwhile . . . Nick took the Ice Bucket Challenge in nothing but a towel. And it reminded us of the ENORMOUS "Mariah" tattoo he has across his back. It's gonna suck getting that lasered off.
Jennifer Aniston Says She Stays Home to Avoid Being "Bullied on the Internet"
JENNIFER ANISTON doesn't want to be chased down by the paparazzi and ridiculed online for something she says or does . . . so to avoid that, she and her fiancé JUSTIN THEROUX stay holed-up in their house.
She tells Britain's "Express" newspaper, quote, "You do the best you can, but it feels like it's getting worse and very nasty because of bullying on the Internet. Even movie critics don't just comment on the film, they tear people apart on a human level.
"I don't know why that is happening but it is . . . [so] we just stay home so there really isn't anything to report.
Pamela Anderson Won't Do the Ice Bucket Challenge . . . Because She Says the ALS Association Does Animal Testing
If you've dared PAMELA ANDERSON to take the Ice Bucket Challenge, I have bad news for you: She's not doing it. And it's because she claims the ALS Association supports ANIMAL TESTING.
In a note on her Facebook page she said, quote, "Sorry, I can't bring myself to do your Ice bucket challenge . . . I thought instead I'd challenge ALS to stop animal testing.
"Recent experiments funded by the ALS Association, mice had holes drilled into their skulls, were inflicted with crippling illnesses, and were forced to run on an inclined treadmill until they collapsed from exhaustion.
"Monkeys had chemicals injected into their brains and backs and were later killed and dissected."
Then she listed statistics that supposedly prove animal testing really doesn't work, and urged fans to, quote, "find and support charities that never harm animals and which pour their time and resources into advanced, promising, human-relevant cures."
Meanwhile, PINK'S husband CAREY HART also refused to take the challenge, but not really on moral grounds. He donated to ALS instead. But he did call out the whole concept.
He Tweeted, quote, "It's extremely creepy and annoying how obsessed people are with this ice bucket challenge. The purposes is to raise money for an awful disease.
"If you are that into seeing people dump buckets of ice water over their heads, go find a wet t shirt contest. Time to find a hobby, people."

A New Survey Says Carrie Underwood Is the Best Female Role Model in Music, and Pharrell Is the "Chillest Man"
A recent survey asked people who's the "best female role model in music" . . . and as you'd expect, Miley Cyrus was NOT #1.
Instead, Carrie Underwood led the way with 36% of the vote. Taylor Swift was next at 17.2%, followed by: Adele (14%), Alicia Keys (10.8%), Beyoncé (10.6%), Katy Perry (8.5%) and Lorde (3.1%).
The survey also asked for the "chillest" man in music . . . whatever that means . . . and Pharrell came out on top with 23.2% of the vote. John Legend was second with 22.3%, followed by: Kenny Chesney (19%), Zac Brown (13.1%), Jack Johnson (11.3%), and Jason Mraz (11.1%).
Sarah Jessica Parker wrapped herself in a towel and stepped out onto a balcony in Houston, Texas yesterday to accept the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. She did it on Instagram, so it had to be in three parts.
The first part was accepting the challenge.
The second part featured her nominees for getting iced – Joan Rivers, Kim Kardashian and Billy Eichner.
And the third part was the dousing – but whoever tossed the water on her didn’t do such a good job. Check that out too.
The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has been phenomenally successful, both in raising awareness about the disease and raising funds for continued research to combat and defeat it.
But of course, there have to be party poopers.
First up, the Archdiocese of Cincinnati officially discouraged Catholics from participating, because some of the money donated to the ALS Association funds embryonic stem cell research, and that goes against the church’s teaching.
Then, the US State Department weighed in, banning ambassadors and high-profile foreign service workers from participating, as the charitable fundraising caused “concerns about preference and favoritism.”
Someone needs to throw buckets of ice water on the people imposing these bans.
Cosmetic giant Elizabeth Arden announced some dismal financial news this week concerning its fiscal fourth quarter results. Net sales are down 30 percent, resulting in a staggering loss of close to $150 million.
And here’s part of the explanation, directly from their report to shareholders:
“While the Company had expected weaker sales comparisons due to the lower level of fragrance launch activity in fiscal 2014 versus fiscal 2013, the decline in sales of celebrity fragrances, particularly the Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift fragrances, was steeper than anticipated.”
In other words, The Biebs and Taylor stink – at least, for Elizabeth Arden.
And they’ve got to be pretty bad to be singled out, especially since the company also carries other celebrity fragrances from Britney Spears, Jennifer Aniston and Mariah Carey.
Check out this commercial for Justin’s fragrance, Girlfriend. I think I see the problem…
MARIAH CAREY and NICK CANNON may be heading in the divorce direction.
The "New York Post" claims Nick is currently living out of HOTELS because they're fighting all the time. One of their issues is that Mariah doesn't TRUST him.

Another source says Nick is fed up with Mariah's, quote, "diva demands", and can't stand her anymore . . . quote, "Nick loathes that Mariah treats him like her servant. She gives him a chore list and barks orders at him."
The source says Nick is waiting for Mariah to file for divorce, and when she does, he's going to gun for a chunk of her estimated $500 million fortune.
Nick and Mariah have 3-year-old twins named Moroccan and Monroe. She's 44, he's 33.
Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp Have Broken Up
MEG RYANand JOHN MELLENCAMP have broken up, after three years together. A sourse says, quote, "It was the distance. She lives in New York and he resides in Indiana. It was the long distance that ultimately was the cause."
Mellencamp recently told "Rolling Stone" he was too "sensitive" to live in New York . . . quote, "I can't see poor people. I can't see the suffering. I can't see the trash on the streets . . . I'm not leaving Indiana. I'm going to die here."
Is Gwyneth Paltrow Counseling Beyonce Through Her "Split" with Jay Z?
We still don't know if rumors of a BEYONCÉ / JAY Z split are true, but if they are, then there's no reason THIS can't be true as well . . .

Zac reportedly still wants to be with Michelle, and hasn't given up on her.

The "National Enquirer" claims WHOOPI GOLDBERG is so fed-up with "The View" that she WANTS OUT.

One unnamed person says, quote, "[She] regrets roping herself in like that, and is trying to figure a way out." Whoopi hasn't commented.

The 43rd president of the United States – some know him as George W. Bush, others simply as W – took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. First, he tried to write a check, as getting a bucket of ice water dumped on one’s head isn’t very “presidential.”
Thank goodness his wife was on hand. Great job, former First Lady! And lucky for her the Secret Service was taking a coffee break.
To W’s credit, he challenged his predecessor – Bill Clinton, aka #42 – to take the challenge. W noted that August 19 was Bill’s birthday, and “my gift to Bill is a bucket of cold water.”
