Assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal of New York has introduced an anti-fur bill that would ban the manufacture of all pelts in New York by 2021. This bill seeks to rally for more humane and ethical treatment of animals. Right now, fur farms are raising chinchillas, racoon, foxes, and mink and killing them (often in inhumane ways) for their coats.

This bill would be similar to other bills in California. It will likely receive push back from the fur industry and fur farms.

With more sustainable choices available, this may be the perfect time to push this legislation through.
