In the past few months there have been an alarming number of measles outbreaks. Washington and New York have both made the news for high numbers of people infected. Hopefully Indianapolis does not make that list, however there has been a confirmed case of measles in the area.

A visitor to the area stayed at Microtel at 5815 Rockville Road, March 18, according to RTV6. A manager was not able to confirm which room the person stayed in. Additionally, said person also went into Shapiro’s Delicatessen on South Meridian Street.

Most people who contract measles have not had their vaccine. That said, if you aren’t vaccinated and have a fever, rash, a cough, and runny eyes  you should visit a doctor ASAP.
