This story breaks my heart and makes me angry. Look, I get it, I love my dogs way too much. But putting down a healthy animal for basically no reason is unacceptable.
A Shih Tzu named Emma was euthanized in Virginia in accordance with her owner’s will. The will asked that the dog’s ashes be mixed in with those of its human.
Emma was temporarily placed at an animal shelter and staff members tried to talk the executor out of putting down the dog according to CBS 4.
However, dogs are seen as personal property in Virginia so the will was followed through with.
