The pure agony of having to sit at the table until you have finished your broccoli is technically OUR OWN FAULT! Recently I learned that vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, and brussels sprouts (Yes- There is an S at the end of “brussel” did you know that? I JUST learned that too!) are all man made. They stem (produce pun!) from ancient Rome where they had a lot of mustard greens. They would find the plants with the biggest flowers, mate those, and soon there were these gigantic flowers that eventually became the vegetables we loathe today.
