Tips To Traveling Safely Right Now

If you’re worried about flying while the coronavirus is still infecting thousands each day, some tips from Mika Manninen, the CEO, and co-founder of dairy-free yogurt brand Hälsa Foods, who has only spent nine days at his Palm Beach, Florida home in 2020 may ease your mind.

Manninen has spent 75 percent of his time in a plane, hotel, or rental car. Here’s how he’s staying healthy. When he checks into a hotel he cleans all surfaces with disinfectant wipes, including the shower head, and only lets the cleaning service every four days if he’s staying for an extended amount of time.

At the airport he worries less, but sits in a corner alone, doesn’t purchase any food or drinks, if he does get bottled water he wipes it down with a disinfectant wipe. He warns to use a paper ticket as phone surfaces may scan by placing their phone on the glass.

On the plane, he wipes down all surfaces around his seat and does the same for rental cars. Manninen, who his employees call “El Diablo COVID,” says he’s “afraid,” but has tested negative twice for COVID-19.
