Your Neck and Shoulder Pain Might Be Anxiety

2020 has been a pain in the neck!! (Or an area lower on our body.) But is the anxiety you’re experiencing also causing neck and shoulder pain? It’s possible! According to BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders there are links between mental health and physical pain. Neck and shoulder issues were the most specific ones linked to anxiety and depression. Stress can cause your muscles to tighten up and over time that can cause some pretty big issues. Not ALL neck and shoulder pain is brought on by what’s going on in your feelings but if you’ve been having a tough time emotionally it very well could be linked!

On that note I’m a HUGE fan of therapy and working on mental health and BeWellIndiana  has a ton of resources for counseling, substance abuse, COVID-19 help, or other assistance you might need. Take care of yourself- you’re worth it!
