Julia Michaels has written and co-written songs for Justin Bieber, P!nk, Selena Gomez, and more. Now she’s releasing her first full-length album and we can’t wait to hear it!

Julia Michales joined Carson Daly on the Today Show to chat about tattoos, songwriting, and her debut album.

Both Michaels and Daly love traditional style tattoos and they showed off their tats to one another. Michaels gushed about a pin-up girl with boxing gloves on the back of her art while Dailey shared a Leo symbol for his daughter.

Next up on the docket was songwriting. Michales rose to fame in 2017 with her hit song “Issues.” She said she didn’t feel comfortable having someone else sing “something so intimate” about her so she sang it herself. Michaels also talked about being a jealous person and how that theme has carried over into her album, Not In Chronological Order. She and boyfriend JP Saxe wrote two of the songs on her new album including “All Your Exes.”

“We were at the studio one day and he was like ‘you just wanna live in a world where all of my exes are dead, don’t you?’ and I was like ‘Yup!’ It’s saying I love you so much that the idea of you being with somebody else before me, physically hurts me,” said Michaels.
