Chris Hemsworth did genetic testing on his docuseries “Limitless” and found out he has an eight to 10 times greater chance of developing Alzheimer’s disease than the average person.

In the fifth episode, he’s told by a doctor that he has two copies of a gene called APOE4, which is linked to the disease.  He talked about finding out in an interview with Variety.

“My concern was I just didn’t want to manipulate it and overdramatize it, and make it into some sort of hokey grab at empathy, or whatever, for entertainment.  It’s not like I’ve been handed my resignation . . .

“There was an intensity to navigating it.  Most of us avoid speaking about death in the hope that we’ll somehow avoid it.  Then to be told some big indicators are pointing to this as the route which is going to happen, the reality of it sinks in.”

Chris said his grandpa has Alzheimer’s so the news wasn’t a total shock.  And the preventative measures needed are the same things he already practices like stress and sleep management, good nutrition, and fitness.
