Ariana Grande’s eighth studio album, Petal, has taken the top spot in Billboard’s weekly fan-voted new music poll. The newly released project earned more than 41 percent of the vote, placing it ahead of several other releases competing for listeners’ attention.
The final poll results reflected strong early interest in the album following its July 31 release. Petal arrived as Grande’s first full-length studio project since Eternal Sunshine in 2024 and features 12 tracks centered on fame, relationships, emotional distance, and personal growth.
The album presents a more restrained side of Grande’s sound. Instead of relying mainly on the powerful vocal performances associated with some of her biggest hits, many of the songs use softer delivery, layered harmonies, electronic production, and R&B influences.
Petal was introduced by the single Hate That I Made You Love Me. Grande worked on the project with longtime collaborators Ilya Salmanzadeh and Max Martin.
Winning the weekly poll does not represent an official sales or streaming chart, but it offers a snapshot of audience enthusiasm during a busy release week.
