Céline Dion paid tribute to Australian music legend John Farnham with a special performance of You’re the Voice during a celebration concert held at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena.
Appearing remotely from Paris, Dion dedicated the performance to Farnham and spoke warmly about his influence on her. The moment also carried extra history for fans, since the two singers previously performed the song together in Melbourne in 2018.
The concert brought together more than 120 performers and musicians to celebrate Farnham’s career. The lineup included Keith Urban, Tina Arena, Jimmy Barnes, Jessica Mauboy, Chris Martin and Hugh Jackman, among others.
Farnham was unable to attend the event because of his health, but the concert centered on his music and long-standing impact on Australian pop and rock.
The show sold out Rod Laver Arena and was also screened in cinemas across Australia. Strong interest later led organizers to announce an additional cinema presentation featuring a re-edited version of the concert.
