TikTok blew up this year and everyone from Microsoft to Instagram wanted a piece of the action. Now YouTube wants in and is even launching their own short form video format to compete.
According to Endgadget, YouTube is calling it’s version Shorts, as they’ll be 15-second videos that “you’ll be able to string multiple video clips together, record with music and adjust the video speed. There’s also a timer and countdown so you can record hands-free.”
When will it launch? It’s still in testing but they’ll be launching in India this week. YouTube even added a row on it’s homepage where the Shorts will live. You will swipe vertically to watch new videos, much like you do on TikTok and Reels.
