Taylor Swift Has Matched a Record Set by Dolly Parton

Journey with me for a minute to the country world, where Taylor Swift is currently sitting at the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

It’s been a minute since she’s been at the top of the country charts, and she has Love Story (Taylor’s Version) – the official title of her re-recording of Love Story – to thank.

This means both versions of Love Story reached Number One on that chart, which makes her only the second person to accomplish that. . .right behind Dolly Parton. Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You” did it in 1974, and her re-recording topped it again in 1982.

I’m pretty sure we all know why Taylor re-did the song, but in case you’ve been living off the grid. . .she’s in the process of re-recording a lot of her early albums because Scooter Braun bought the rights to them, and she’s going to stick it to the man.

Love Story was on her 2008 album Fearless. Her new version of that album is called, Fearless (Taylor’s Version), and it’s coming out April 9th. But you probably knew that part, too.
