Colts Owner Jim Irsay Has Died

Colt Owner and CEO Jim Irsay has died at 65. The Indianapolis Colts released a statement saying that Jim Irsay died “peacefully in his sleep” this afternoon. Jim Irsay had been the CEO of the Indianapolis Colts since 1997 and is survived by three daughters and 10 grandchildren.

The Indianapolis Colts posted on social media this evening a statement that said, “Jim’s dedication and passion for the Indianapolis Colts, in addition to his passion and commitment to the community, and, most importantly, his love for his family are unsurpassed.”

In addition to his love of the Indianapolis Colt, he was a passionate music fan with an enviable collection of musical memorabilia. Under Jim Irsay, the Indianapolis Colts brought the city their first Superbowl Championship. The Colts full statement is posted on social media.
