The world was shocked to hear the news one month ago today that Chadwick Boseman had passed away. He never vocalized his struggles, his pain, or his battle with colon cancer.
To honor Chadwick, artist Nikkolas Smith created this amazing piece first as a print and donated some of the proceeds to Children’s Hospital L.A. and St. Jude. Then Disney approached him. His work can now be seen in person at Downtown Disney.
Nikkolas told Today.com that “The child in the mural is wearing a hospital gown, to honor the late Black Panther star who visited children with cancer at St. Jude campus, while waging a private battle with the disease. The installation is titled ‘King Chad.'”
The artist posted a few images of the installation to his Instagram saying “To millions of kids, T’Challa was a legend larger than life, and there was no one more worthy to fill those shoes than Chadwick Boseman. I’m so thankful to be able to honor Chadwick’s life and purpose in this way.”
He would be so proud! Rest In Power Chadwick
