Taylor Swift Wrote A Song About Stephen Colbert?

If you’re like me and can’t stop listening to Fearless (Taylor’s Version) you may have wanted to call an ex, rekindle an old flame, or possibly key a guy’s car this past weekend. Not only did the re-recording of her 2008 album stir up some past feelings, but it also had me wondering who each song was written about.

Stephen Colbert had the same thought. He invited Taylor to his show, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, on April 13 (coincidence, I think not). Stephen said he was flattered about her writing a song about him but she tried to tell him time and time again that “Hey Stephen” was not about him. She then proceeded to show this very in-depth mood board she created when the song was originally written, with several pics of Colber’s face on it.

Not only did the mood board include Colbert’s mug, it also included 8 hearts, a picture of Stephen Colbert from 1989, and a bird that could represent the bird shirt she wore on the cover of 1989. She also mentioned New York and shake it off. Does this mean she’s releasing 1989 (Taylor’s Version) next?

Taylor confessed that the song wasn’t written about Stephen Colbert but about Stephen King. Anyways, this video has so many easter eggs that I’m going to have to take the next week off work to solve them.
